Earlier this week I shared How I wear… Easy Layers (check out the original post). I know dressing in layers is something that can seem daunting, but when done right, (I promise it isn’t hard!) it can actually be flattering and super comfy!
The key is to keep the pieces simple and basic…
Start with a slim-fitting short or long-sleeved tee (if you need extra warmth). Keep this layer basic. I love something striped!
Add a cardigan, light sweater, or button-down shirt. This is the perfect opportunity to add a pop of color or texture, like a plaid shirt.
Top it off with a cargo jacket or army vest. I also love using a denim jacket or blazer.
If you’re concerned about loosing your shape, look for top layers that have ties to cinch in (like my vest) or try adding a belt over the 1st or 2nd layer to enhance your shape.
Wear with accessories. Try adding a scarf, statement necklace, or even statement earrings, like I did.
Don’t be afraid to experiment! Different combinations of pieces, colors, or prints can look great layered because both pieces aren’t in full view (they’re partially covered by other layers).
