Pretty Polish: Quick & Simple Glitter Polish Removal

1 Nail polish remover

2 Cotton balls, tissue, whatever you usually use to remove nail polish

3 Pieces of aluminum foil cut into squares

I’m sure you are all well aware of my love for glitter polish (I mean I’ve shown it off every week for the last month!), but I know many won’t wear it because it can be so difficult to take off.

But… get ready to break out the glitter or make a Target run! I have the easiest way to remove glitter polish.

When it’s time to take the glitter off…

– apply nail polish remover to the cotton balls

– put the cotton balls on top of your nails

– wrap your finger tips in the aluminum foil squares

It should look like this…

A little strange, I know! Maybe don’t do it when the boyfriend/hubby is around…

Once the foil is on, wait 10 minutes.

When time is up, don’t unwrap the foil. Pull it off with the cotton ball inside (it will wipe off any polish still stuck on) and your nail will be perfectly clean!

Have I convinced you to try glitter polish? What do you think about this easy trick? I want to see lots of photos of glitter nails in the near future!

  1. this is actually a great idea for taking of the “gel” polish from salons. you’d have to leave it on longer or repeat, but way better than what i do, which is sit with my fingertips in a bowl of polish remover. (yuck.) thanks.

    1. I never even thought about the gel polishes. Thanks for sharing the idea! Sounds like this would be a perfect alternative. If you try it, let me know how it works.

  2. OPI came out with a peelable base coat that works great! My solid glitter nail polish lasted 2 weeks before one fell off, then I easily peeled off the other nails. You should give it a try!
